First Place in the Advanced Division of the 2007 North Georgia Cake Challenge

 

Incasweets is pleased to announce that we won First Place in the Advanced Division of the 2007 North Georgia Cake Challenge, which was held in the beautiful city of Dahlonega, Georgia. The theme of the Challenge was "Mountain Weddings", and we had 3 hours to complete a wedding cake.

Our design was based on numerous family trips to the mountains in which we encountered beautiful landscapes, white picket fences, fruits and mountain cliffs. We transfered these ideas into a winning cake design that showed many cake decorating techniques including, dust painting, free-hand painting, gum-paste modelling, embossing, carving, and piping. Of course, to complete the wedding scene a bride and groom were modelled as a topper.

I would like to thank the judges and all our fans and supporters. Most of all, I personally would like to thank my best friend and husband Dave for his continued encouragement and great imagination.

Thank you to "grandma" Naomi, whom is the best babysitter and our biggest fan. "Grandma", we couldn't do it without you.

Thank you to my beautiful children Brianna and Andrew, who are responsible for my interest in sugar art. Brianna, I just love your fresh cake ideas! Thank you to Jorge Paredes, our dearest cousin. Jorge your help and support has been essential through this whole process.

Finally, thank you to all my family and friends overseas, whom enjoy seeing our work from a great distance.
